Bruce Lee and the art of Wing Chun

For this particular blog post I wanted to do something a little different. Normally I would rattle on about something in text. Well, this time you get to listen to be prattle on about something. Exciting, no? Now this is my first attempt at a screen cast so I hope everyone can bear with me if you happen to find any mistakes. I did my best to be clear, but strangely enough its somehow more difficult to speak clearly for me when I'm not actually speaking to anyone, though I guess that's a good sign in the long run.
Anyway, the screen cast focuses on Martial Arts most famous icon Bruce Lee. From there, I talk about a martial arts that heavily influenced him called Wing Chun. Anyway, I hope everyone likes it and feel free to leave feedback!

  1. What a great topic, I love Bruce Lee. He is one of my heroes and I believe no one will ever replace him. That's great you included his master Yip Man and by the way have you seen the movies ? They are the greatest martial arts movies I have ever seen. What I really like of your screencast is that you are very clear with your voice. Also you gave us not just pictures but videos also and great information that stuck to the subject of martial arts and Bruce Lee.

  2. I love your video and it seems like you already have some public speaking or instructional experience. I have heard that anyone who could win a match against "Bruce" could only do it once. Also I love how the video shows that the moves are too fast at times for the camera to follow. I would love to have seen some of your footage or heard more about your family.

  4. I appreciate all of the feedback, thanks everyone!
Randy - which moves? The newer Ip Man moves that have come out with Donnie? And if that's what you're talking about they're great, the first is actually being called the new greatest martial arts film by a few different critics.
Joey - I appreciate it. Whats interesting is that William Cheung (who taught my father's teacher actually) had the fastest punch there for a while (might still, couldn't find the facts on it). He could actually strike at somewhere between 8.2-8.7 punches per SECOND. Scary guy.
    Marina - Thanks a bunch!

  5. Great presentation, very clear and informative. Great topic as a blog about martial arts would not be complete without mentioning one of the greatest martial artists of all time. I especially enjoyed the clips from human weapon that shows the effects of certain strikes and of course all the images. Thank you.
